Samsung Opens Tonga’s First Innovation Hub and Customer Service Centre
Samsung Electronics has opened Tonga’s first Innovation Hub in Nuku’alofa, as well as its first Customer Service Store, both located at the PTH Building on Taufa‘ahau Road — giving students, teachers, businesses and community groups access to modern technology and digital learning opportunities, while also providing customers with official repairs, warranty services, diagnostics and a wider range of Samsung products available locally.
In partnership with WanTok, one of Tonga’s leading internet and mobile network providers, the Innovation Hub offers high-speed internet, smart devices, and modern meeting and event rooms. It is designed for school classes, workshops, business meetings, and training sessions, including online or hybrid events. Samsung says the purpose is simple: to give Tongans better access to technology and create more opportunities for learning and new ideas.
Prentice Robb from Samsung Electronics said the company wants to support Tonga as it moves into a more digital future. He explained that the hub is equipped with Samsung’s latest tools so teachers, students and business owners can work more easily and continue building important digital skills.
The hub will run coding classes, hands-on workshops and digital literacy programmes. This means young people will have chances to learn skills that can help them in future jobs, and teachers will have new tools to use in the classroom. Local entrepreneurs will also benefit from a space designed for collaboration and creativity.
The centre uses Samsung’s SmartThings Pro system, which allows people to control lights, energy use, screens and other devices from one place. This can make events run more smoothly and help save power.
Together, these two new facilities — the Innovation Hub and the Customer Service Store — represent a major investment in Tonga’s growth. They will help build digital skills, support local businesses, create learning opportunities for young people and make technology services more accessible for households across the Kingdom.
