Eliminating Abandoned Vehicles: A Dream for Tonga
The Tongan government and the Government of Japan have signed a cooperation agreement to address the issue of abandoned vehicles in Tonga. There are currently an estimated 30,000 scrapped cars in Tonga that are piled up on dumping sites. To tackle this issue, car compacting machines will be introduced to the country. Japan’s Ambassador said that this move will help to reduce the waste for recycling and improve the overall environment. The introduction of this equipment is seen as a positive step towards getting rid of abandoned, discarded cars, which are a common sight throughout the country.
